Three Things You Should Notice Before Testing
Three Things You Should Notice Before Testing

Stop all data transmission programs on your computer

Keep data transmission program (such as FTP, P2P, VoIP and Internet multimedia application) running may result in underestimation of your Internet speed. As a result, stop those programs when you are going to test your Internet speed.

Prevent background data transmission from other computers/devices

To prevent underestimation caused by having background network traffic from other computers/devices, you may power off other computers/devices or temporarily unplug their Ethernet cables.

Connect your computer to the modem through a wired connection

The performance of self-installed broadband router (home gateway) and Wi-Fi access point devices will limit your Internet speed and also affect the Internet speed test result. To test your internet speed accurately, put away these devices and connect the computer to the modem directly through a wired connection.
