Chunghwa Telecom’s intelligent video surveillance service has managed over 100,000 cameras, of which more than 40,000 are from county and city intersection monitors. Chunghwa Telecom provides comprehensive cybersecurity protection and has obtained ISO27001 international certification to ensure the security of video storage. In addition, it uses “cloud video recognition” to help analyze the video content for users to search, greatly improving the efficiency of video retrieval for users. Chunghwa Telecom has developed various AI video recognition technologies, including license plate, vehicle type, face, body, object and other types of recognition modules. We also continue to label data and optimize AI recognition modules to provide high-quality video recognition results. In addition, we have successfully reduced the size of our AI module and embedded it into IP cam and DVS to provide edge video recognition. Chunghwa Telecom integrates AI video recognition technology and applications. We currently provide applications such as Cloud Dragon Route Tracking system, Cloud Based Traffic Technology Enforcement, scenic area traffic counting, and refit motorcycle exhaust pipe recognition.
IVS Applications
IVS is a platform that allows users to access real-time and historical videos for various purposes. Some of the applications of IVS are:
● IVS Electronic Fence: This feature can be used to monitor different areas, such as construction sites, industrial zones, science parks, pedestrian lanes, and bicycle lanes. It can help prevent occupational accidents and improve road safety. By using our self-developed AI edge computing technology, we can set up Reign of Interest (ROI) and detect any people or vehicles entering or leaving the alert zone. If any intrusive event triggers, the system will send a notification to the relevant personnel via LINE application (LINE Notify mechanism), ensuring prompt response and reporting.
● IVS Face Recognition: This service can be used for smart access control, entry and exit management, and post comparison. It can enhance security and convenience by using video technology to recognize faces.

As such, users can also perform management tasks, whether real-time viewing, access browsing or file conversion output etc.
The leased service also stores recorded videos for the past 15 or 31 days at the Chunghwa Telecom IDC, allowing business owners to save on various costs including hardware equipment, maintenance and operations.
In addition, the installation and regular maintenance of the IVS service are all handled by Chunghwa Telecom, and the customer's equipment including video transmission circuits and front-end camcorders are monitored around the clock. If there is a malfunction the system immediately notifies the user by E-mail or SMS, allowing the owner to view the status of each individual store at any time.
When anomalies occur, historical video can be used to take a picture or the on-demand download function to capture a screenshot of the security anomaly. Because surveillance video stored at the Chunghwa Telecom IDC cannot be deleted and it automatically corrects monitoring equipment recording time, screenshots provide clear evidence of when security anomalies take place.
This service can also set video browsing privileges and camcorder groups according to customer demand and record user behavior etc. This enables chain stores to create a unique service advantage and present the extend security and management of remote monitoring as a customer service.
